Cauliflower is a cruciferous vegetable, strong in fibre and B vitamins by nature. It is high in antioxidants and phytonutrients. It also contains fibre, which aids in weight loss and digestion, as well as choline, which is necessary for learning and memory, and a variety of other minerals.
It's in the same family as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, kale, and radishes, and belongs to the mustard family. The word "cauliflower" comes from Latin and means "flowers of cabbage," and until the huge leaves open out, this low-growing plant does resemble cabbage.
